Call us  SOS/FAN was published in 2013, after more than a decade of research. When SOS/FAN was first published, the author was told it would be at least 10 years before it 'took off'. If America is to survive global warming, Americans must understand America's energy options plus America's environmental obligations; then cast their votes accordingly. When it comes to America's energy needs, Voters must put aside their political ideologies. Democrats, Republicans and Independents must come together and make sure America is on the path for a strong, stable economy which will provide the resources to successfully combat global warming.

------------------------------------------------ IF AMERICA IS TO SUCCESSFULLY CONFRONT GLOBAL WARMING, AMERICANS MUST FOCUS ON THE FIVE E's: Energy, Economy, Employment, Education and the Environment.

The American Voters Must Make Their Expectations Clear!

Americans are rapidly realizing, a strong American economy not only requires affordable energy but energy prices must be stable plus not too low to undermine America’s efforts for energy independence. If America is to sustain an economy which is vibrant and growing, America must have a secure, stable, reliable and affordable source of oil. A secure source of oil means that the oil cannot be interrupted by International events. A stable source of oil will be consistently priced, with minimal variations. A reliable source of oil will be readily available regardless of World unrest. An affordable source of oil requires oil prices which will allow Americans to be able to fuel their vehicles and warm their homes without having to sacrifice on other of life’s necessities. America’s leaders can and must create the laws, regulations and policies which will create an energy independent America.

What about carbon emissions resulting from the consumption of oil and other fossil fuels? The problem confronting mankind is the fact that even when the carbon emissions from the consumption of fossil fuels is not included, the emissions of carbon into the atmosphere is still significantly greater than the carbon returned from the atmosphere to Earth. Even if modern society could function without fossil fuels, mankind will still be endangered by global climate change. Mankind, specifically Americans, must develop the technology required to artificially manage the exchange of carbon between Earth and earth’s atmosphere.

The fact is and will remain well into the future: Oil is the corner stone of the economies of every modern nation. Furthermore, emissions of carbon into Earth’s atmosphere will continue to be more than Nature can recapture and return to Earth. These two facts must be accepted and dealt with in an unemotional and pragmatic manner. To do so requires the American voters to obtain a basic understanding of America’s energy options along with the consequences of each energy option and then, in a loud, clear voice, make sure America’s elected leaders understand what they are expected to accomplish. No longer can or will Americans allow elected leaders to get by on vague, well sounding, political correct but meaningless energy policy. When it comes to energy to power America’s economy along with the significant consequences of global climate change, which is being accelerated by increased, and unavoidable carbon emissions, Americans must not be complacent.
